In the past few years there is a true battle being fought between LCD monitors and LED monitors because they are both acceptable in price, they offer a good value for the price they have and they have taken the quality of imagery a lot further then past technology has ever tried to.

The LED monitors use LED lighting technology so that light will not escape and will not affect the quality of the image in any way and maintain it crisp and clear. The earlier LDC monitors use fluorescent lighting technology that allow light to escape and go to darker areas thus the contrast of the image will not respect it's natural features and also the brightness of the monitor will be higher than usual.

Also the LED monitors are using a side lighting point of view to improve the overall quality of the image where the LCD monitors use a back lighting system thus the image will be clearer at the middle point of the screen and is will loose it's quality on the edges. The LED monitors have resolved this issue by using this technology and the image will have an overall quality all across the screen.

Last however not least the LED monitor is a master of ergonomics and it proves that simply by size. It is both thinner and

lighter than the conventional LCD monitor and will offer you the possibility of arranging your room to your visual delight and will save you a lot of space.

If you'd like to know the simplest way to hook up two monitors to your PC, you've come to the right place. Most often it's easier than you'd think. At least it is, when you have all the necessary pieces of hardware to make it work. This article walks you through what connectors you need, and what workarounds are available if you ever find yourself longing for more.

The Bare Minimum

If you have a laptop, chances are you already have the necessary ports to hook up a second monitor. All you need to do is to match the existing video-out to what's on the external display. If DVI is available on your external display you'll find it the simplest of things to convert whatever your laptop has to it. All popular Linux distributions, all versions of OS X and Windows XP or later are capable of stretching, cloning or extending your desktop to multiple displays. Once you connect your display to the VGA, DVI or HDMI port on your laptop, it should power up and the OS of your choice should greet you with the preferences window. That's where you set the right resolution and refresh rate, in case it's not picked up by your OS instantly.

If, however, you're using a desktop computer, you need to double-check that it's got at least two signal outputs on the video card. Some VGAs have more than two connectors, but it seldom means that you can use them all for a separate display. Usually, you can use any two to feed two monitors, or one monitor and a TV.

What if There are Too Few Connectors

The same solution provides itself when you want to use two additional external monitors on a laptop, which has only one port.
